Marte Aas and Line Bøhmer Løkken run Multipress Vorlag, a publishing house in Oslo
Episode 419: I had the pleasure of speaking with Marte Aas and Line Bøhmer Løkken about their curating of the Oslo Fotobook Festival that starts this week. The FFF Frei Forbundet Fotografer episode, The Norsk Fotografisk Fond, and Norwegian Photography Now have sponsored this episode.
The duo runs Multipress Vorlag in Oslo and makes incredible books related to photography and adjacent practices. Both enterprising publishers are also artists themselves and have crafted a series of unforgettable photobooks, including their Angle 1-90 series, which focuses primarily on Norwegian artists or artists who have worked in Norway previously. Choreography with Potatoes and Flour by
Line and On the Subject of Body and Space by Marte are exemplary titles in themselves.

Throughout this episode, we discussed the duo’s meeting, their work together, and their separate practices. We also discussed their ambitions for the FFF’s 50th-anniversary curation of the Oslo Fotobok Festival. Every year, there is a new curator for the fair, and this year, it has been placed in Marte and Line’s guiding hands. It was a fantastic conversation, and I am thrilled to have had the opportunity to speak with the duo whose work should not be undervalued.
