Yolanda Cuomo is an American book designer

Episode 525: Yolanda, or Yo Cuomo, is a highly decorated graphic designer and bookmaker who has worked on innumerable projects you will likely have seen if you are passionate about photobooks. It was an absolute honor to speak with her about her life and career.

In our conversation, we discussed Yo’s upbringing and family background, as well as her early attachment to fine art, which led her to work for Richard Avedon and in various editorial positions at magazines, ultimately bringing her into the world of design. She was such a generous subject that I feel very fortunate to have heard her stories about New York and about working in such incredible environments.

Please tune in for this episode. Yolanda is a true legend, full of humor and great stories from art and her life. It was truly an education.
