To describe Tropical Trauma Misery Tour is to discuss Brazilian politics through the Bolsonaro era, an era of rife right-wing control masquerading as populism. Bolsonaro was, like him or not, above average at controlling media and events surrounding his candidacy and reign. His ability to control media and perform for the camera was put under scrutiny when he was stabbed on September 6, 2018, which arguably ushered in his candidacy, a topic that Rafael and I speak about at length. This assassination attempt has been echoed in recent times by the assasination attempts on Donald Trump. We live in volatile times. Rafael and I discuss the implications of these acts, along with media control, and the many wild ideas about their intentions. Please Tune In!
