Beatriz Matuck is a Brazilian book designer

Episode 467: Beatriz Matuck is a Brazilian book designer living in São Paulo, whose work is emphasized in the design and production of photobooks.

Having worked with many artists, from Felipe Russo to Guy Veloso, her work is characterized as graphic yet clean, emphasizing the photographer’s work over the over-designed tendencies of some designers working in the 21st Century. During my recent visit to São Paulo, I had the opportunity to sit with Beeatiz and speak with her about her background as well as her view on book design.

Beatriz is a great designer. Having spent time with both Felipe Russo’s Centro and Guy Veloso’s Penitentes, I was captivated by their minimalist design. I hope this conversation emphasizes her practice and gives people insight into a brilliant new designer coming out of the city. Please listen in!
