Böhm Kobayashi is responsible for a whole slew of important zines and books about photography. Though the pair operate independently and as a collaborative couple with an extremely potent output of material. In this episode, we spoke about the duo’s dynamic practice and how their exhibitions and books like Paris, 8. One of the great things about the duo is their insistence on a DIY aesthetic and publication timetable. As many of us struggle to find publishers who can keep up with our work in terms of output, Katja and Oliver have always taken matters into their own hands and are firm believers in reduced edition size and renegade forms of printing. I deeply appreciate this aspect of their work and have done it since I received the first Supernatural publication from Katja.

Our discussion was robust and well worth a listen as we spoke about the new book and the politics surrounding the Gilets Jaunes/Yellow Vests movement in France and the strategies the couple enlisted to document it which resulted in the excellent book. Please pay attention to Katja and Oliver, they are incredible thinkers and producers.
