Wouter Van de Voorde is a Belgian artist living and working in Australia
Episode 345: Wouter Van de Voorde and I sat down to speak about his new published by VOID Death is Not Here.
I am a massive fan of Wouter’s work, and it was a distinct pleasure to watch this work unfold throughout the past couple of years. I genuinely believe that VOID did an exceptional job in handling his work. Wouter is something of a consummate shooter. He is someone whose productivity mirrors my own, and I find that admirable. The result of this production level is that Wouter has incredible work to sift through to produce a book of photographs. The genius of VOID’s position is that they could do so with a keen eye for a great edit and design, rendering the overflow of Wouter’s work as able to be honed, cut, and chopped into something finite and concrete.
Death is Not Here is a mix of ideas that Wouter and I discussed in this episode. Without wanting to give away too much of the ghost, Wouter humored some of my observations, and I believe our conversation added a few layers to understanding the open nature of the work. It was a great conversation, and I look forward to our next catch-up.
