Moritz Neumüller is an Austrian curator, writer, and educator living and working in Barcelona

Episode 349: Moritz Neumüller is an Austrian writer, curator, and photobook expert—his landmark exhibition and book Photobook Phenomenon is considered an essential contribution to the burgeoning medium of the photobook.

I met Moritz in Oslo this summer for the Fotobok Oslo festival, a great event that celebrates the medium through exhibitions, talks, and reviews of material. We also crossed paths via another conversation with Dennis Low regarding both positions on the debate surrounding the cancellation of Gian Butturinin’s publication London. Though Dennis and I spoke at length about the issue, this discussion is relegated to a very small amount of the conversations, but I felt it was, as did Moritz, important to let him respond. We did that but spent most of the time speaking about our cultural moment and how we each see the role of the photobook and Morits’s position in photography. It was a great conversation, and I hope you can tune in.
