Matthew Genitempo is an American artist and publisher

Episode 454: Matthew Genitempo is an American artist whose new book Dogbreath has been published by Trespasser Books and was designed by Cody Haltom.

I have been waiting for this conversation for years. I am a huge fan of Matthew and his books. I am also a fan of Trespasser, a publisher Matthew, Cody, and Bryan Schutmaat run together, publishing incredible books. Matthew and I cross over on several interests, including music, with which we begin the conversation. We touch on several topics from Matthew’s background, his experiences at the Hartford graduate program and the outstanding success of his first photobook Jasper, published by Twin Palms through to his involvement with Trespasser and his two latest books Mother of Dogs and Dogbreath, the latter, of which has an interesting experimental soundpiece from Michael A. Muller.

It was a great conversation and diving into Dogbreath was particularly illuminating. We hope you enjoy some of the music links and will seek out some tunes to widen your listening experience. Check out Michael A. Muller’s sound piece if you have the book.
