Thomas Boivin is a French photographer

Episode 405: A long time in the coming, this episode sees me speaking with Thomas Boivin, a fantastic photographer whose books Belleville and Ménilmontant have been published by Stanley/Barker.

Throughout the episode we spoke about Boivin’s work, but also his background and beginnings in photography. We also spoke about his beautiful books published by eminent the British publisher. Sweet, without sensation and driven by the idea of The Local, both books are exemplary studies of portraiture in Boivin’s signature monochrome style. We spoke about his process, which involves quite a bit of walking and observing.

We spoke his approach and his influences. The episode was jovial and quite pleasant. I ecpect that we will hear quite a bit more from Boivin in the near future. Please Tune In!
