Christopher Anderson is a American artist living and working in Paris
Episode 507: Christopher Anderson and I got to catch up after a while. Admittedly, I should try and catch him more often as the conversation is always great, and all things being equal, he is having an incredible moment on the world stage, and I wanted to catch him about everything Vanity Fair, Epstein, and his exceptionally beautiful new book, designed by Brian Roettinger, Index, published by Stanley/Barker.

Index is not a retrospective, though it does detail Christopher’s incredible journey throughout photography with never-before-seen images from some of his most celebrated work, housed in Roettinger’s beautiful box set, in which the topics are divided as follows…
Vol 1. Afganistan
Vol 2. Hati
Vol 3. China
Vol 4. France
Vol 5. Cars
Vol 6. Self portrait
Vol 7. Holiday
Vol 8. New York
Vol 9. Trouble
Vol. 10 White House
Vol. 11. 9 East 71st Street, NY

The last two volumes detail the hubbub over Anderson’s recent stint covering the Trump administration. Much has been made of these photographs, and it was fascinating to hear Christopher’s account of the experience. As I mentioned to him, I watched everything unfold with profound interest, as it is not often that our little corner of photography becomes an international talking point. With this in mind, it was vital to hear Christopher’s take on the images.

The last volume in the set details Christopher’s photoshoot with Jeffrey Epstein, who is proving to be a critical turning point in the world. Christopher speaks about the shoot itself, as well as its aftereffects and what transpired. It is the stuff of a Ludlum novel. Please tune in. Christopher is always a joy to speak to, and I find his position in the world of images fascinating. Pick up the book before it gets expensive.
