Episode 532: Jeremy (Jeremiah, Jere, Jeremy) Dine and I got a chance to grab some talk time a few weeks ago to speak about a number of things, last but not least, his fantastic new book, Anne-Marie, published by Steidl. The book is a beautiful collaboration with the artist’s wife, Yolanda Cuomo, one of New York’s finest designers.

Throughout the conversation, we discussed the time and collaborative nature of the work, as well as Jeremy’s non-traditional beginnings in photography from an early age and his time working in Avedon’s studio, where he met Yo Cuomo. What is incredibly compelling about the book is the many forays into the medium’s possibilities. Over the years, Jeremy experimented with different cameras and processes in his work with his muse and wife, Anne-Marie. What strikes the viewer as vital is his intense passion for both the subject and the act of making photographs.

Throughout, Jeremy and I had a great time discussing the work, the process of making the book, and his upbringing as the son of an artist. It was a fruitful time spent picking things apart. If you want to see a book where style, black and white, and color are tossed together, significantly edited, and sequenced into an amazing book in the end, please pick up a copy of Anne-Marie.
