Judith Black is an American artist

Episode 250: Judith Black returns for round two to speak about her book Vacation published this year by Stanley/Barker.

It is always a pleasure to speak to Judy about her intensely personal work. Having spent time with her speaking about her family life previously, it was a great pleasure to continue the discussion. Vacation, her new book with Stanley/Barker continues the documentation of her family through a series of American road trips that the family embarked on.

In the episode, we spoke about the growing pains associated with her kids reaching their teen years through early adulthood and the often maddening process of trying to get a whole family into a car and off to one destination when school lets out and the family is free to roam the dog days of summer. As per usual, the conversation talks about familial intimacy and the bonds required to undertake the summer vacation mission.

This is a great continuation of our conversations about Judy’s work and it is worth the while to tune in!
